Course Details

Opened in 1985, the 18-hole championship layout at Hackberry Creek Country Club was co-designed by architect Joe Finger and legendary champion Byron Nelson—a fitting collaboration given Nelson’s own origin story in the game. Before the trophies and the 52 career victories, he started as a young caddie at a nearby club, famously sneaking out at night to practice by marking a “hole” with his handkerchief so he could see it in the dark; a caddie tournament soon provided the spark that launched his professional career. Today the course stretches to 7,013 yards of Bermuda, pairing strong sightlines and scenic looks with a test that can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities. And for practice, Hackberry’s range is a local rarity in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex—oriented to the northwest so the sun sits at players’ backs and the prevailing breeze can help you find a comfortable rhythm before you head to the first tee.
