Course Details

Piping Rock Golf Club, situated in Locust Valley, New York, was founded in 1911 and crafted by the legendary Charles B. Macdonald. The layout embodies Macdonald’s signature design philosophy, showcasing iconic "template" holes like the Redan, Biarritz, and a Road Hole inspired by the 17th at St. Andrews. The standout ninth hole features a Biarritz green—60 yards deep—divided by a dramatic six-foot-deep trench. Recently, architect Bruce Hepner revitalized the course by clearing trees, restoring historic cross-bunkers, expanding green sizes, and introducing closely mown surrounds to certain holes, all while preserving the original design intent.
