Despite boasting three par 5s stretching beyond 600 yards and a formidable 478-yard par 4, the Canyon Course at Forest Highlands often plays shorter than its designated yardage. This is attributed partly to its elevation of 7,000 feet and partly to its unique layout, featuring six par 3s strategically interspersed every other hole from the fourth through the 14th. Carved along mountain ridges, both nines offer breathtaking vistas, with majestic ponderosa pines lining the fairways. Particularly striking is the ninth hole, which descends sharply down an escarpment into a narrow stream valley, culminating in a shared double green with the 18th hole, enhancing its scenic allure.
