Founded as the first country club in San Diego and still the only private club in the county’s southern region, San Diego Country Club has long been woven into the fabric of the game. Its reputation extends well beyond the local scene, with the club earning national attention as a frequent championship stage. Over the decades, it has welcomed many of the game’s top players while hosting marquee events such as the 1964 U.S. Women’s Open, the U.S. Women’s Amateur in both 1993 and 2017, and the U.S. Senior Women’s Open in 2025.
