Bidermann Golf Course

Originally a 9-hole course crafted by Devereux Emmet in the 1920s on Henry du Pont's estate near Winterthur Museum, Bidermann evolved when Emily du Pont provided additional land, expanding it to 18 holes in 1965. Designed by Dick Wilson, it aimed to be a cozy golfing retreat. The sole rule, to lift and drop balls from flower beds penalty-free, endures. In 1977, Bidermann merged with Vicmead Hunt Club, operating from dual clubhouses. Today, with around 300 members, tee times aren't necessary on this course, which hosts roughly 8,000 rounds annually.
