Course Details

Situated in the heart of the storied Rancho Santa Fe community, Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is an exclusive retreat reserved for homeowners within the historic Covenant. Designed by the renowned Max Behr and opened in 1929, the course is celebrated as one of America’s top 100 walking courses, admired by architects for its rare balance of strategy, charm, and playability. The club’s legacy is deeply tied to its most famous tradition — Bing Crosby’s “Crosby Clambake,” first held in 1937, which brought together celebrities, businessmen, and golf professionals for an unforgettable pro-am event that ran through 1942. Over the decades, Rancho Santa Fe has continued to make its mark on the game, hosting notable tournaments such as the 1954 San Diego Open, won by Gene Littler, and the 2000 SCGA Amateur, captured by Scott McGihon. Its prestige was further cemented when the USGA selected it to host the 2006 Junior Amateur Championship, an event that not only showcased top young talent but also supported youth golf programs through The First Tee of San Diego.
