Course Details

Golf course architect Robert White was hired to design nine holes through the pastures and marshy lowlands along the river, which debuted in 1923. Three years later, in 1926, the second nine holes were introduced, winding through the elevated woodlands and laurel-filled ravines overlooking the river. Manasquan River Golf Club remains one of the most distinctive courses along the Jersey Shore, offering a layout with two contrasting landscapes. The signature hole on the front nine is the seventh, a formidable par five stretching nearly 660 yards. Golfers must carry a vegetation-filled ravine with a 220-yard drive, while a 280-yard shot is required to reach the start of the uphill fairway. About 170 yards from the green, the fairway dramatically drops, adding to the challenge. On the back nine, the standout hole is the sixteenth, a demanding par four measuring roughly 465 yards. A precise 240-yard drive is needed to clear a waste bunker guarding the right side of the fairway. From there, the approach shot—ranging from 180 to 220 yards—must carry a carved-out section of the Manasquan River to a raised green, creating a striking infinity effect.
